Back to Netball Project Win National Lottery Best Sports Project 2012

England Netball's Back to Netball initiative has won the National Lottery Award in the Best Sports Project category. Over 500 schemes were nominated.

The Awards are an annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded projects, and they recognise and celebrate the difference that Lottery-funded projects make to communities across the UK.  Back to Netball has been a fantastic success and we have welcomed over 22,000 women back into our wonderful game since it’s national implementation in 2010.  Since the start of the Active Women project, 4,752 women from deprived areas and/or caring for children U16 have come Back to Netball.  There are countless case studies that highlight the impact that Back to Netball has had on the lives of local women including overcoming adversity, weight loss, reuniting communities after the riots and mentoring young people through qualifications that has led to longer term employment.

 THE ENGLAND NETBALL SUPPORTERS CLUB

With the World Youth in Glasgow in 2013, Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014 and the World Championship in Sydney in 2015 there are plenty of opportunities to support England – plus the forthcoming test series v Australia in January next year.

This travel partner will co-ordinate all travel, accommodation and arena ticketing, at competitive prices, plus pre/post tour trips and social events when an event is taking place overseas.  To take advantage of these benefits, you must be a Member of the England Netball Supporters Club.  Membership is FREE!
