Bournville and Selly Oak
Little League

little league

Page last updated 31st March 2011

Welcome to Bournville and Selly Oak Little League Netball. The League is run by the Coaches and senior players of Birmingham City Netball Club, which has CAPS Accreditation from the sport's governing body, England Netball. Over the last few years we have experienced problems with obtaining facilities to run what has previously been a very successful and popular Little League.

This is an example of two of our teams from a previous season.
All our teams are named after Britsh birds,
and play in good quality, attractive kit
which is loaned to players for the season on a small deposit.

Last season we successfully re-launched the Little League at King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls in Kings Heath. The school have now told us that this year they are unable to provide staff to open the school at weekends, so we cannot go back there this year. We have since learned that other netball organisations are using the Camp Hill facilities on Saturdays. No comment.

However, we are grateful to Raddlebarn Primary School for then use of their netball court this year. The school has only one court, which brings its own problems, and there are no on site toilet facilities. Girls who are interested in joining or finding out more are invited to

Raddlebarn Primary School. Gristhorpe Road, Selly Oak, Birmingham, B29 7TD

on Saturday 2nd April, 9:30am - 11:30am

Saturday 9th April, 9:30am - 11:00am

New players are welcome to any of these sessions, free of charge, wearing tracksuit bottoms / trainers.

All players, new and existing, must come to the session on 2nd April so that players can be allocated to teams in a fair and balanced way. Please also keep the evening of Friday 6th May free for the giving out of kit and fixture lists.

Little League matches will be for an hour on Saturday mornings starting on 7th May, and continuing to the end of June.

Girls in year 4, 5 and 6 who are interested may like to come along to our linked netball club, Birmingham City NC. Training is at Dame Elizabeth Cadbury Technology College Sports Hall, Woodbrooke Road, Bournville, Birmingham B30 1UL. Sessions are on Mondays all year round in term time from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The first two sessions are free, thereafter £3.00 per session.

For further information, please contact Dianne Barber, 0121 472 0114.
