FALCONS NETBALL CLUB

New Players
Falcons are seeking additional players to build on their two team in the 2009/10 season as a result of maternity leave!
You can find more details on the our club if you click on 'Join a Club' page

Coach
Falcons Netball Club are currently looking for a coach.  We would like a permanent coach but know this is difficult, so we would welcome one-off training sessions for those learning to coach, or if you are a player that fancies trying out coaching for a few weeks as a taster/practice for the real thing. We are really flexible and would just value external input and experience, no matter how small.  More club information can be found on the 'Join a Club' page

REGISTRATION BOOK - CENTRAL VENUE

During the first 4 weeks there have been over 20 registration discrepancies, either players not signed or names not even in the book.  This has resulted in the relevant teams being fined or losing points.

The book is actually at Central Venue so there should be no reason for players names and signatures not being registered.

Can you ensure that all your players are registered and have signed.

Thanks

Allocated committee assistants and timers

In your start of season packs was a rota for teams to provide someone to help at the committee desk.  Each team mut provide a person to assist at the desk for the whole of that match Saturday.  This person does not have to necessarily be a player or and umpire but could be a parent or partner.

Please arrive at the desk by 10.30am

Don't forget your teams timing slot.  If you have any problems with this then please speak to Debbie Hayes.

Courts at Stockland Green

Following several queries regarding the number of courts at Stockland Green we would like to make teams aware that:  When we booked the courts at Stockland Green we were told by Stockland Green that court 7 would be unplayable and so could only book 6 courts. The committee therefore made the decision to play the lower divisions at Shenley court including Division 8.

Umpire and Team Monitoring

Umpire and team monitoring sheets have been used at both Central Venues and will continue on a trial basis.  We are hoping to include divisions 1 -3 after Christmas.

Chlamydia Screening

The team will not be attending any more fixture dates however if you would like
more information please visit http://www.chlamydiascreening.nhs.uk/

The fixtures etc. have now been sent out to the secretaries.
All information required is on the website.
Rules and fixtures are no their own page (or will be)

The names of committee members can be found on the 'league info' page.

Copies of timing and desk rotas, fixtures with times, central venue guide and registration sheets can be found on the downloads page.

The umpires list which has been sent out to secretaries needs updating so please let Pat or Jane know any deletions/amendments/additions as soon as possible.  This is not available on the website due to data protection issues so please check with your secretary to see if you are or not on the list.

Any problems please email us at

 CAR PARKING AT STOCKLAND GREEN

We regret that the entrance in Slade Rd for parking on the south car park is now unavailable due to building work commencing for the new school.

The only place to park in future will be the Marsh Hill entrance leading to North car park which hopefully will have been enlarged by September.

Some players have been parking their cars at Stockland Green and travelling to other venues.

Stockland Green have asked us to advise you that once their events have finished on a Saturday they will lock the gates to the Centre.  Please do not leave your car there unless you know the Centre will be open when you return.

   First Aid

All teams should have a simple First Aid Kit eg wipes, plasters, tape, available on the side of the court. Remember there is no injury time at Central Venue but all open wounds with blood mustbe covered.

  Refreshments

We would like to see teams offering refreshments at the end of the match once more. It will be the responsibility of the home team [ the team listed on the side next to the date] to provide them.

 SKY TV COVERAGE

Don't forget, Netball is now being shown on Sky Soprts.  Check tv listings for details.
