Falcons Netball Club We recently participated in the Cancer Research- Race for life event, in association with Solihull Active & WISPA (Women in Sport and Activity). The invited participants had a stall to promote their sport/activity/interest. We wanted a rounded stall to emphasise the importance of exercise as well as healthy lifestyle. We informed people about the netball we're involved in, as well as other leagues and clubs in the region; we promoted our own club with flyers/business cards (for those with no bags while running); gave out leaflets and information sheets- BNL, West Midlands Netball; informed the public about the BNL & England Netball website; demonstrated netball to the public, and helped members of the public learn to shoot with the netball post by our stall. We found the best method of engagement with participants (as only limited numbers visited us before the event), was to offer free fruit as they we running round, and give them information cards/flyers as they flew by.
As we do not have a youth team (yet), we tried to ensure we gave any young people and parents as much information as possible to enable them to contact a club or a league, and offered to be a point of contact if they were struggling. We spoke to a number of interested return to netballers that seemed keen to join us but only time will tell if our sparkling wit, personality, sharp shooting and free fruit won them over.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, despite being there for 6am and it being rather warm. We now have all the kit, so if you hear of anything else taking place, let us know, we're good to go.
Elmdon Netball Club are looking for new players to join their National
Premier League 3 squad and Regional Division 2 squad.
Open trials are being held 10am-12 noon at Alderbrook Sch, Blossomfield Rd, Solihull on Sat
17th July and Sun 15th Aug.

A NEW ERA FOR LINDEN NETBALL
After over 30 years Linden Netball Club are moving venues. The club has trained at Harry Mitchell since before some of our current players were born and was there when Colette Thomson first took over the coaching. It is with regret but also with great anticipation that Linden have decided to move to Nechells Community Centre, Rupert Street, Birmingham. The facility offered at Nechells of 2 courts with sprung wooden floors was too good an opportunity to miss. It will mean more court time for all members of the club during training sessions and the chance to offer a variety of sessions.
Training will take place on Wednesday evenings at Nechells from 8pm until 10pm. Linden run 6 teams from this training session and are keen to encourage any players of any age or standard who wish to play netball to come and have a go.
Training/trials will start on Wednesday 25th August 2010.
If you require any more details please contact

CAR PARKING AT STOCKLAND GREEN
We regret that the entrance in Slade Rd for parking on the south car park is now unavailable due to building work commencing for the new school.
The only place to park in future will be the Marsh Hill entrance leading to North car park which hopefully will have been enlarged by September.
Some players have been parking their cars at Stockland Green and travelling to other venues.
Stockland Green have asked us to advise you that once their events have finished on a Saturday they will lock the gates to the Centre. Please do not leave your car there unless you know the Centre will be open when you return.
First Aid
All teams should have a simple First Aid Kit eg wipes, plasters, tape, available on the side of the court. Remember there is no injury time at Central Venue but all open wounds with blood mustbe covered.
Refreshments
We would like to see teams offering refreshments at the end of the match once more. It will be the responsibility of the home team [ the team listed on the side next to the date] to provide them.
SKY TV COVERAGE
Don't forget, Netball is now being shown on Sky Soprts. Check tv listings for details.
