In this section you will find information about the Netball Umpiring Award structure for umpires, tutors and testers, as well as application forms for the various courses.

Congratulations to those umpires who have recently gained their C Award Umpire Qualification and to those who have gained their Beginner Award Umpire Qualification.

 

Umpire Course Programme

England Netball C Award Umpiring Course

When:      Sunday 25th November Click Here for Application Form

Where:     King Edward V1 High School for Girls, Edgbaston Park Road, Birmingham, B15 2UB

Time:        10.00am - 4.00pm (6 hours)

Closing Date:  Monday 5th November

Who Should Attend: Affiliated members of AENA (either individual or via schools), club players, Little League personnel and Teachers. Those with umpiring experience either at League or England Netball Beginner level.

 

 England Netball Beginner's Umpires Award

When:      Date to be Announced

Where:     King Edward V1 High School for Girls, Edgbaston Park Road, Birmingham, B15 2UB

Time:        10.00am - 4.00pm (6 hours)

Who Should Attend: Club Players, Little League Managers and Primary School Teachers. Must be over the age of 12. This is a basic course and little experience of umpiring is required.

This qualification has to be renewed every three years. The alternative would be to take the 'C' Award qualification (no expiry date).

 

England Netball Beginner's Award Written Test

A successful written assessment is required in order to take the practical test for the Beginner's Umpires Award, the cost of which is included in the course fee. The written test can only be taken when a beginners course has been attended.

Next written tests available:

Monday 8th October 2012 and Thursday 11th October 2012, both at 7.05pm.

England Netball Beginner Award Practical Test

Those wishing to become qualified should be affiliated to AENA.

The practical test is normally organised 2 - 3 times per year. 


If you have been on a beginners course and have passed a written test, please contact John Sproson on 07968 531608 to book onto one of these dates.    If you would like to register your interest in a Beginner Award Practical Test, please do so via email to pauline.knight@englandnetball.co.uk or 07540 126814.  The cost of the practical test is £10.00 per person.

 

England Netball  'B' Award Umpiring Course

'B' Award Umpiring Courses are organised by the Region.  The next course is Sunday 16th June.  If you are interested in attending a B Award Course or work towards their B Award, please contact the Regional Umpiring Secretary, Zena Johnston 01562 741 515. 

Who Should Attend: Those with either one year experience as a C Award Umpire or have been talent identified.

Umpiring Testers

Are you interested in becoming a tester and helping new umpires to achieve the Beginners Award?

Testers need to have a 'C' Award or above Umpiring qualification.
